Responsible for Finance activities related to the Research Mission area of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. These responsilbilites included financial reporting (to include budget to actual comparatives, trending reports and ad hoc requests)

• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages with detailed variance analysis for Research Mission areas based on specified requirements from Research Mission Leadership.• Provide monthly accounting, analyzing and reporting for Research Cores, DCM Animal Facility and Clinical Charge Revenues.• Accounting and monitoring for the Research Re-investment Program, supported by a FEMA cap grant.• Assist in ad-hoc projects as outlined by Senior Leadership including reporting for Intramural Funding Awards to principal investigators and summations of financial terms from principal investigator recruitment packages.• Prepare and submit the FY17 budget for the Department of Ophthalmology

Supported corporate initiatives to drive long-term growth opportunities which has included: re-launch of the new truTV Programming strategy, successful transition of production for the In Session trial coverage from NY to HLN in Atlanta, support Turner global initiative to launch truTV-branded networks/programming blocks worldwide, and relocate Business Unit operations to Time Warner Center to consolidate Turner New York locations.Communicated and distributed financial results to executive management and departmental budget stakeholders; streamlined reports enabling management to effectively monitor spending and make informed financial decisions; facilitated monthly meeting between Finance, the departmental manager and Atlanta-based accountants to review financial results and discuss upcoming projects.Produced forecasts and annual budget/LRP for network and digital assets within financial targets. Created and maintained the monthly forecasting and annual budgeting for CNN NY newsgathering and programming including meeting with departmental management stakeholders for data gathering, auditing financial reports for accuracy and supplying variance analyses to CNN Consolidation Group.Managed the allocation process for all NY-based services groups by obtaining the monthly statistics for each department, updating excel models, and either submitting to accounting for posting of actual data to the general ledger or updating the allocation matrices in Hyperion Planning.Published financial results to executive and mid-management of each departmental budget holder and provided reports in a monthly meeting among Finance, the departmental manager and accounting.Participated in CFO-sponsored employee survey committee that addressed unfavorable response areas from 2004 survey results. The team collected data from employees, presented findings and suggested improvements to the CFO, and implemented approved solutions.Oversaw headcount reporting process for CNN NY by tracking each departmental headcount, ensuring all new hire/position transfer paperwork adhered to Turner approval protocols, and addressed headcount-related inquiries from NY-based management or CNN Consolidation Group.

Led a newly-created financial management team created to manage headcount processes and capital cash flow forecasting for the entire CNN organization. Oversaw the standardization of capital project cash spend reporting by department management stakeholders which improved accuracy of cash flow spending projections. Developed and implemented capital spending tools utilized by the CFO and senior management to make informed decisions on allocating capital resources. Represented CNN in the Turner internal controls group ensuring all accounting policies and procedures currently in practice were compliant with GAAP and implemented company-wide.

Managed the accounting function with three direct reports for two CNN divisions consisting of 40 departments, including production of financial statements, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive budget ensuring that reported results were GAAP compliant. Served as a liaison to departmental management stakeholders in the development of forecasts and annual operating budget providing guidance for projected operating expenses to ensure achievement of financial targets. Supported CNN Newsgroup CFO on various priority projects including ad hoc financial analyses as needed.

Led the conversion of 10 CNN Networks & Divisions from MSA to PeopleSoft Financials accounting database system with responsibilities which included leading a multi-departmental team in developing conversion timeline, meeting Turner and CNN compliance standards, scheduling end-user training seminars, participating in weekly update meetings to address issues and adjust implementation timeline as needed. Post-implementation assisted users with systems issues, created system-generated tools that enhanced flexibility in tracking costs and variance reporting.

Consolidated the financial results of the various Turner Networks & Divisions for internal and external reporting purposes, investigated budget variances and analyzed other issues as required, automated a manual-intensive financial statement consolidation and to a system-generated data retrieval process, served on the Turner Cash Flow Preparation task force to document best practices, assisted in the preparation of Annual Budget presented to the TBS, Inc. Board of Directors, assisted in the acquisition-related reporting requirements during the TBS, Inc./Time Warner merger.

Performed monthly closings; produced monthly financial statements; and assisted in the preparation of forecasts, budgets, special projects and Turner Broadcasting System reporting packages and audit schedules.
