My role at Chris Trevor & Associates predominantly consisted of the representation of plaintiffs who had been injured at work, in motor vehicle accidents or in public places. This involved varied work including: - undertaking the operation of a claim in accordance with the provisions of the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003, Motor Accident Insurance Act 1994 and the Personal Injuries Proceedings Act 2002 - preparing appeals to the workers' compensation regulator - attendance at conferences and mediations - conducting informal settlement negotiations where appropriate - litigating claims - taking matters to trial I also acted for clients in civil litigation matters and superannuation claims. Prior to focusing on personal injury litigation I gained experience in the following areas: - commercial law including leasing, buying / selling businesses and commercial land / buildings- wills, powers of attorney and estate matters; - general law matters.
