Following the completion of my third year of Civil Engineering at the University of Victoria, I am eager to diversify my experiences and develop new competencies both academically and professionally. These current goals are progressing while contributing to the “Surveillance of antimicrobial resistance and other health indicators of populations affected by the Brumadinho dam rupture, based on sewage” project within the Wastewater-based Epidemiology and Sanitary and Environmental Chemistry groups at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It is my honour to be working under Professors Thiago de Alencar Neves and Cesar Rossas Mota Filho during this time. Through a variety of independent and collaborative projects I have developed an interest in design processes, project management, building science and alternative energies. One of my continuous intentions is to contribute to initiatives that challenge my skillset and support my community. For these reasons, I am now exploring curiosities developed during my studies that pertain to waste and clean drinking water systems and related environmental fields.
