After the first 6 months I was given the responsibility of managing the Inspection department and the Inspection technicians work load. Due to my previous experience with embedded and industrial computers I was also given ownership of the growing FITPC project which involved much commercial customer support and service. These responsibilities were managed alongside the quality management of the company. I gained much experience and valuable insight from visiting our Chinese suppliers whilst auditing their production departments. My role at Anders was to oversee all facets of quality, to include the following: • Dealing with customer complaints • Organising return shipments to suppliers • Auditing current/new suppliers to ensure level of quality is maintained/established • Managing suppliers to ensure CARs and investigation/repair work is carried out swiftly and within set KPIs • Through analysis of issue and liaison with customer, ensuring CARs are relevant, correct and total • Trend analysis of fault and inspection data. • Assignment of inspection work load to inspection technician • Customer visits to support the sales team on key and problem accounts • Customer support via email and phone and visit, on product range and any PC related issue • In depth investigation of mechanical and electrical customer issues in house • Creating awareness of the importance of Quality in all aspects of business using CRM Cases • Internal Auditing of all departments to ensure BSI compliance Show less

I initially started my time as System Test and Integration Engineer, but I was promoted from that role a few months later to Board Test Coordinator. Following the streamlining of personnel in the operations department (March 2008), I became the team leader of four engineers supporting the different aspects of the test function. My main role was to allocate the workload appropriately to ensure that deadlines were met. It was essential that my team were always properly equipped to do their job. To this end, I endeavoured to make sure resources are available ahead of requirement, so there was no delay in throughput. Fostering good working relationships with other departments is crucial to this, whilst helping me keep up to speed with new product and future developments. Issues often arose that required immediate attention and it was essential I was able to reorganise the team’s priorities quickly, whilst retaining a long term view for the completion of other projects. This job allowed me to take an entire department, with a history of failing standards, and lead it in the direction that was needed. Test- scheduling responsibilities: • Board test/software loading DOS, CE, XPe and Linux • System test/configuration/soak • Environmental testing to mil spec • Customer returns management and analysis • Modification/prototyping to 0402 and IPC standard • Test jig development and construction • Procedure writing • QA inspection of incoming product • Analysing fault data for trends Other responsibilities: • Outlining training requirements • Writing appraisals • Interviewing job applicants • Managing and auditing subcontractors • Reporting and advising on first production runs • Liaising with engineering regarding potential issues • Enforcement of ESD policy company wide • Maintenance/organisation of test equipment Show less
