• Site leader for a titanium and stainless steel orthopedic medical device operation with 800 employees before COVID-19 related reductions in force (contract manufacturing for Johnson & Johnson).• Reduced total cycle time by 37% and backorder by 62% within first three months after reducing WIP, reorganizing plant, and implementing fundamental systems, such as shift pass-downs and daily production meetings.• Achieved site financial profitability targets despite COVID-19 pandemic and multiple significant reductions in customer demand.

• Site leader for three surgical medical device reprocessing facilities with 240 employees (Jabil assumed this Johnson & Johnson contract manufacturing operation in August 2018).• Trend of product recalls stopped. Batch record first pass yield increased from 20% to 98%.• In the first 6 months, cycle time reduced by 40% and on-time delivery increased from 68% to 97%.• Customer satisfaction at an all time high. • Led the operations of two independent 'plants within a plant.' Provided functional management for production, supply chain, and engineering. • Guided, directed and planned combination pharmaceutical and auto injector finished product assembly and packaging, as well as infusion valve assembly, in FDA regulated environments to achieve product fulfillment, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and safety at the lowest possible cost. • Developed through team members: operating procedures, major schedules, and task assignments. • Introduced advanced process & industrial engineering software tools and methods to manufacturers in the Asia region. Notable new customers include Samsung, Nokia, Intel, Seagate, Microchip, Amkor, Delphi, 20 universities in the Philippines, and the Philippine government’s National Wages and Productivity Commission.• Serving in an operations improvement consulting role, analyzed the current state of engineering methods in the customer’s factory (data, location, tools, communication, outputs, etc.) and created a future state with higher engineering efficiency, faster time to market, lower labor costs, and improved quality. • Projects included improvement in tools and methods for facility layout, time & motion study, lean analysis, line balancing, work instructions, ergonomics, etc. Responsible for regional sales, partnerships, and customer support. • Led an FDA regulated $28 million annual revenue business unit that manufactures plastic respiratory medical devices under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. Managed a 24x7 operation with 125 employees, including supervisors, operators, injection molding process technicians, engineers & buyer/planner. Served on the site management team.• Reduced backorder from $350k to $0 over an 8 week period. Maintained $0 backorder through improved scheduling, leadership development, and operations improvements. Assigned an additional, non-respiratory operation that had the largest backorder in the Smiths Group and doubled output in 1 month, eliminating a nagging operations issue for senior executives. • Improved line fill rate from 40% early & on-time to 95%. Regained customer confidence, resulting in 3% sales growth during fiscal year 2009 (major recession). Regained R&D confidence and received new product introductions.• Piloted enterprise-wide operating system dashboard showing key performance indicators and improvement plans, presented to senior executives monthly. • Completed six sigma black belt training. Executed certification project and coached two members of airway team in their certification projects. Projects combined saved $220,000 annualized in scrap reduction and labor efficiency.

• Managed the Thin Films department in an automated, development semiconductor facility producing cutting-edge computer chips on 300mm wafers (e.g. – Pentium IV, Centrino and Core 2 Duo). This site is a class 10 cleanroom environment.• Responsible for general management of 20-40 highly educated technicians, leading teams to improved operational performance through coaching, teaching, mentoring projects, and addressing performance issues when appropriate. Provided management vacation coverage to other departments as well, including Etch, Planar, Lithography, and Diffusion. • Accountable for all aspects of floor operations for Thin Films modules including safety, quality, output and reporting. • Served as Emergency Response Team (ERT) Leader, leading teams in response to multiple spills & leaks with no safety incidents.

• Managed an electrical Final Test department in Manila, Philippines for a semiconductor assembly and test contract manufacturer. • Led 3 Filipino supervisors / 53 operators and supported 17 global customers, in an ISO 9000:2000 certified 24/7/365 cleanroom production environment. • Reduced Cycle Time from 10 to 5 days for most critical product, using Lean Sigma methods. • As an expatriate industrial engineering consultant (prior to becoming a full-time manufacturing manager), I led and participated on teams that designed, planned, and constructed various Amkor cleanroom manufacturing, warehouse, and office facilities in China, Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, and USA (Class 10 – 100,000). • Designed the production facility for Texas Instruments' DLP chip assembly in Taiwan. Performed site and facility planning for a 1M sqft. greenfield facility in Shanghai, China. • Taught and advised Amkor's industrial engineers and managers in Asia on facility layout design, analysis, and improvement. • Published cover story article in the August 2001 issue of IIE Solutions magazine (now called Industrial Engineer): Modeling Future Factories.
