My experience and network are available to help companies in this segment to enter the Brazilian Market. Considering the business culture in Brazil, as Business Consultant my aim is to support companies in this challenging market, which implies in making the links and bonds between supplier and client. It also means supporting the company in tackling the bureaucratic hurdles, and having a better understanding of the way of doing business in Brazil. A consultant must be able to work closely with the company and develop strong contacts with its potential clients.

Similar to my previous job as Trade Attaché in Rio de Janeiro, but focused on the Northeastern region of Brazil.

The Consulate General of the Netherlands of Rio de Janeiro is responsible for a Consular District which includes the states of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo. In Brazil the Rio Economic Department is part of a larger network composed by the Embassy in Brasília, the Consulate General in São Paulo and the NBSO´s (Netherlands Business Support Offices) in Porto Alegre and Recife. My activities are: • Write reports periodically, about economic and political developments;• Participate in Forums about development and economy;• Render commercial support to enterprises and businesses in the Netherlands that wish to do business in Brazil;• Assist enterprises in finding business partners or developing business agreements with local business counterparts;• Maintain contacts with governmental authorities (State Secretaries, Mayors, and eventually Governors) as well as with class entities such as Industry Federations, SME Organisations, Unions and International Business Centers, Legal and Fiscal Consultants and with local and international non-governmental entities;• Organise and participate in international (incoming and outgoing) business missions, seminars, fairs and official diplomatic missions. • Duly record and report on all activities to Embassy and Head Office in the Netherlands. • A highly foreign trade and government institutional oriented post.

Economic activity, as well as government and official contacts was combined with Trade Development. Basic task was reporting on economic and political developments.

Started as an Account Officer for the Financial Line of Business. After a year and a half was promoted to General Branch Manager in Recife Brazil (Aprox. 50 people). After the whole company went through an reengineering process acted as regional CRM for the Financial Industry. As General Manager was responsible for discussing and executing the yearly strategic planning for the different lines of business particular to the office (basically, Finance, Industry and Commercial as well as the Public Sector). The Branch was composed of 4 major departments: Sales, Services and Consulting, Technical (Harqware) services and Administration. The position required a lot of dedication, teamwork, and motivation skills. As Branch Manager I met my goals and was duly rewarded.
