In this position responsibilities include: Creating a monthly schedule for 45 plus providers (15 plus providers scheduled in a 24 hour peroid daily), scheduling moonlighters to cover open shifts, maintaining PTO/CME approvals and denials, ordering office supplies, triaging new patient admits and consults to our department with our providers (130-190 patients on our service daily), random administrative duties, answering the department phone, working with patients/families to resolve questions regarding thier inpatient stay, in addition to providing clerical support to all of the providers and keeping up and organizing the office to run in a smooth and efficient fashion. Creating and constantly working to improve a system of checks and balances to maintain patient safety when on our service, often requires out of the box thinking. This postion also requires I can cross cover any of the other clerical postions within the department when people are out pto.
