General Manager of luxury, full-service, union hotel. Oversaw all hotel operations, strategy and budgeting for 165 room property and 163 team members. Reported to Regional Vice President of Operations. Transitioned hotel from Northwest Hospitality Group to Joie de Vivre Hospitality.Renovation & Rebranding: Oversight and navigation of property sales and change of management company/property rebrand within one year. Project manager for $20 million renovation for key stakeholders: owners, management company, city of Santa Cruz, designers and construction company. Oversight of property re-open process to ensure seamless hire and training of 20 managers and 150 union team members. Responsible for marketing, sales and public relations of newly renovated property including new upscale seafood forward restaurant. Union Strategy: Key member of union negotiations team for collective bargaining agreement renewal. Successful in negotiating a pay freeze during the recession resulting in saving to ownership. Key driver in completed a time and motion study to increase productivity in the housekeeping department, defending against a union grievance.
