I've published personal essays, reporting, and blogs in Psychology Today, PDX Parent, Literary Mama, Motherwell, Counseling Today, Podcast Review, Rooted in Rights, Mic.com, and others. My fiction has been published in magazines and journals like Cobalt Review, Apricity Magazine, Flash Fiction Magazine, and Maul Magazine.I also write and copyedit a wide range of content for private clients, including grant applications, personal essays, interviews, dissertations, blog posts, website content, and curriculum.

I design discussion guides, lesson plans, and supplemental materials for students in grades 4-12, focusing on healthy and unhealthy relationships. This includes internal documents for training purposes, as well as educator-facing materials like scripts and standards alignment documents.I also collaborated in the development of brand-new workshops uplifting the intersections of disability, race, and LGBTQIA+ identity in relationships.

I supported curriculum writers by reviewing lesson content, assignments, and assessments, and providing feedback/edits regarding alignment to standards, rigor, accuracy, and cohesion.

I worked with parents to develop and meet behavioral, social-emotional, and mental health goals for their middle school students. I also collaborated with educators to design classroom materials and trainings, and developed my own digital resources on behavior change, the middle school transition, and finding the right therapist.

I provided individual counseling, in English and Spanish, with an emphasis on solution-focused interventions and trauma-informed care. I also ran 4-6 bilingual psychoeducational groups each semester, with topics including resilience, coping skills, self-management, and identity development. Each month, I presented guidance lessons to 500+ students, covering social-emotional skills like setting boundaries and practicing consent, healthy communication, and resisting peer pressure. I also created and presented targeted professional development for 50+ teachers on building trauma-informed classrooms, and participated in the district's Counselor Advisory Council.My team spearheaded the development of the Center for Student Support, a central location for wraparound mental/behavioral health services and social supports available to all students. Our efforts to implement this programming and align our department to the Texas Model School Counseling Program, led to a decreased incidence in our students' suicidal ideation and self-harm by nearly 50%. In 2020, our counseling team won the Texas School Counselor Association CREST award, the highest recognition for school counseling programs in the state of Texas.

I provided individual counseling, in English and Spanish, with emphasis on solution-focused theory and trauma-informed care, and facilitated psychoeducational groups on mindfulness, academic achievement, and social skills. Every six weeks, I presented guidance lessons to 350 students in 6th grade classrooms. I also collaborated with teachers, administrators, families, and service providers to support students' behavioral, academic, and social-emotional goals.

I supported the varied educational programs of the Commission, namely the educator grant program, which disbursed over $7,000 annually to Texas teachers. I contributed to the creation and design of a comprehensive educational resources list and wrote a monthly blog for educators. I was also the lead project manager on our "Integrating Ethics" curriculum, developed for Texas college professors to support the teaching of ethics across disciplines.

I facilitated five-day, interactive residency programs (Spanish and English) in 2nd and 5th grade classrooms for groups of 20-30 students, utilizing theater and dialogue activities (drama-based instruction) to support social-emotional learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. At the end of each residency, I supported students in the development of community service projects, like campaigns against teen smoking and fundraisers for drought-resistant gardens. I also tracked and collected demographic data and survey feedback from student participants.

My instruction focused on reading comprehension, critical thinking, and English language acquisition. In each class I implemented small group interventions and individual student assessments. I also co-taught a "Living Newspaper" project, supporting students in the creation of songs, raps, and skits about social justice issues.

My instruction was focused around reader's and writer's workshops. I also wrote and facilitated an 8th grade leadership course with a focus on team-building, advocacy, and school improvement, and co-facilitated an art therapy group for students with incarcerated family members.
