As Director of Content Development, I am responsible for leading a centralized content development team across all higher education disciplines. Areas of focus include market-driven content development; transition to agile practices; partnership with Portfolio teams, DPG, Finance, and others to set strategic direction and standards; and collaboration with the Project Management team. As Product Development Manager for McGraw-Hill Education, I managed and led a dynamic product development team in the curation of all science, engineering, and mathematical print and digital content for higher ed. My critical functions included: demonstration of facility in navigating and balancing business as usual practices with new company initiatives from a technical and financial perspective; leading my team through strategic development on complex projects within aggressive timeframes that require the ability to continually prioritize changing project tasks/deliverables to meet budgets and deadlines; and driving growth through strategic talent management, including the recruitment, development, and retention of internal and external resources.

Responsible for managing the content authoring process for all digital learning tools for the Chemistry team. Develop all content development processes to be followed by authors, contributors, vendors (including programming and quality assurance) and provide key direction to the tool/feature set development of all discipline-specific platforms. Responsible for maintaining the highest level of accuracy and pedagogical relevance for our digital content.

Owned the product development for all General Chemistry, Introductory Chemistry & Astronomy. Worked with author teams to refine core content, instructor resources, digital practice and assessment. Reviewed and executed on incoming instructor and student content defects for chemistry, astronomy, & physical science. Participated in market development for the physical sciences, including market surveys, webinars, and SME training.

Worked with authors to develop and revise textbook content and digital content according to discipline trends and market demands.Develop supplemental materials including test banks, instructor’s manuals, PowerPoint lectures, online homework, etc.
