Supervise and manage the Wet Chemistry department consisting of 11 employees who are responsible for analyzing hundreds of environmental samples per month. Coordinates all scheduling and training of employees as well as time sheets and payroll. Review of all departmental data to confirm accuracy and to ensure that quality control requirements and reporting limits are met, as well as meeting all reporting deadlines and communicating with project managers throughout the reporting process. Responsible for departmental supply orders, chemical inventory, and disposal of hazardous waste. Performs necessary trouble shooting and instrument maintenance, maintains service contracts and coordinates annual service visits with vendors. Coordinates and performs biannual PT studies on drinking water and wastewater matrixes, as well as maintains annual demonstration of capability for all primary and backup analyses. Review and editing of working SOPs to maintain adherence to regulatory agencies. Participate in biennial audit by the FL Department of Health in order to maintain laboratory certifications. Participate in the Utilities Water Division business plan and the Utilities Central Laboratory building expansion project.

Wet Chemistry and Microbiological analysis of drinking waters and environmental waters certified by Florida Department of Health and Florida Department of Environmental Protection, as part of a TNI accredited environmental laboratory. Specific analysis include but not limited to Determination of Inorganic Anions- Chloride, Sulfate, Fluoride, Bromate, Bromide, Total Coliforms and Fecal Coliforms by membrane filtration, as well as Total Coliforms and E.Coli by MMO-MUG and Quantitray methods. Annual proficiency testing and demonstration of capability. General duties include , analyzing, calculating and reporting data in the LIMS system, preparing reagents and standards, sample receiving, calibrating laboratory equipment, supply order and receipt as well as general housekeeping of the laboratory area. Instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary. Data validation and SOP revision. Assisted during the FL Department of Health biennial audit of 2020 for the Wet Chemistry department.

Annual proficiency testing and demonstration of capability.
