About Robin Van Auken

I work with the Europa Clipper EIS (Europa Imaging System) team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and aim to continue my education through pursuit of a PhD in planetary sciences or a related field. My research interests include the analysis of planetary surface features and the geological processes responsible for their formation, as well as the tectonic and thermal evolution of planetary bodies in our Solar System. I have a background in icy satellites, specifically Europa, but have a great interest in understanding the many complex processes that shape various planetary surfaces. I believe that understanding geological processes on Earth is integral to the understanding of other planetary bodies, and I strive to deepen my knowledge of terrestrial analogs.
