About Robin Weinberg

Sharing stories is a potent way to define and explore who we are as individuals and as a community. For over a decade, I have planned programs and created projects that use interviews and conversations to explore all aspects of life and transitions, including health and wellness, politics and social justice. My work strengthens communities through exploring the stories of the individuals and groups who live there, and helps people record, preserve and share their unique life stories with their family, friends, and the public. I know firsthand how engaging in deliberate conversations and thoughtfully asking and answering questions strengthens relationships among families and friends, and creates connections between different people over shared experiences. My projects take me across the country. I have interviewed people living with serious illness and facilitated conversations between families, friends, and caregivers to record their memories on video. I have gathered the stories of "empty nest" mothers and shaped them into an audio project that documents their lives as they navigate a major transition. I am producing an oral history project to help Westport citizens get to know our town better and how they fit into it. I consult with nonprofits on research projects that gather qualitative data to analyze the effect of their programs on the people they service. At its best, the work I do promotes healing either by fostering individual wellness or by strengthening the community. When I'm not learning other people’s stories and helping to build community, I spend as much time as I can with my three kids, two dogs and husband. I play tennis, have recently taken up squash and paddle and am learning to play the harp.SPECIALTIES:► Creating and Producing Multimedia Oral History Projects► Storytelling & Interviewing► Public Exhibit Design and Installation► Community Building► Interview-based ResearchCONTACT INFO:Email: robinsweinberg@gmail.com
