Singapore

I designed and taught undergraduate classes in SMU's School of Social Sciences. I taught classes on public policy, religion and policy, contemporary Asia, and Southeast Asian history and politics.

Indonesia, Singapore

I have 25 years of experience in Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, working on policy reform, research, program design and implementation, business and strategy development, and representation. My areas of expertise are governance, political-economy analysis, refugee advocacy, international development, religion and development, and knowledge sector.

Greater Jakarta Area, Indonesia

I represented RTI's provision of advisory and technical services throughout the region. Before being named director, I led RTI's research and strategic collaborations in Asia, seeking to diversify and engage RTI's client base. I also headed the Knowledge Sector Initiative, an Australian government-funded project in Indonesia aimed at strengthening.

Jakarta

I led this multi-million dollar, multi-year project, funded by the Australian government in partnership with the Indonesian government, aimed at improving public policy by strengthening the knowledge-to-policy pipeline. The project worked with research institutes, universities, policy-makers, media, and NGOs to strengthen the knowledge sector in Indonesia.

Singapore

As part of the Religion and Globalization Cluster at ARI, I led research projects on Islam and politics in Indonesia, and co-developed a multi-year research initiative on Religion and Development in Asia at the Asia Research Institute.

Leading The Asia Foundation's extensive programming and operations in Indonesia; managing senior staff and program directors; donor liaison and relations; program development.

Responsible for the joint leadership, under the direction of the Country Representative, of the Foundation's second largest field office. Jointly responsible for the management and administration of a development portfolio of $50 million, 60 staff, and six major program units - Legal Reform, Economic Reform, Islam and Development, Women's Participation.

Designing and implementing civil society, education, and anti-poverty programs in collaboration with Muslim organizations in Indonesia; assisting other Asia Foundation field offices to design and implement Islam-related development programs; program development and fundraising; donor relations

Responsible for developing and managing over 5 major development programs in collaboration with thirty local Muslim organizations, seeking to strengthen democratic and civil society values within Indonesia. Responsible for program development, implementation, budget and grant administration.Raised over $12 million in new awards for Islam related.
