I provide bespoke editorial services to writers, literary agents, literary scouts, publishers, and corporate clients. I am available for projects ranging from book proposal assessment through to developmental, structural, and line-level editing of short- and long-form nonfiction. I especially enjoy working closely with authors in developing prospective books from idea to final manuscript and providing assistance on complex, technical projects. My work is informed by fifteen years of experience in-house at book publishers on both sides of the Atlantic, including a decade at Henry Holt and Company, a division of Macmillan US, and more than four years at Oneworld Publications, an independent publisher based in London. Over the years, my title list has ranged across science, psychology/self-help, economics/business, politics and current affairs, social science/criticism, technology, history, and memoir. I have worked with numerous experts writing a first book for lay readers as well as writers and journalists making the transition to books and long-form narrative nonfiction. Before beginning my career in book publishing, I worked in public policy and politics in the US, learning how to translate the findings of a think tank report for a senator as well as how to write a speech or letter that would inspire donations or votes (sometimes both!).
