After a stint as a Daily Mirror feature writer, including covering the recording of Band Aid from inside the studio, I freelanced for national and international newspapers and magazines including The Sunday Times, Esquire, You Magazine, Marie Claire, the Times, the Daily Mail, Us magazine, Cosmopolitan, the Face, Time Out, the New Musical Express, the Observer, the Word, the Sunday Mirror Magazine, GQ, Condé Nast Traveller, Paris Match, Focus, the Age, New Idea and Rolling Stone. I interviewed many of the leading figures in popular culture, movements and innovations and was an early spotter, adopter and commentator on many social and commercial trends.Books:I have written 10 books on everything from fitness, adventure sports and Chinook helicopters to sixties sex gods. In the era before web cams and satellite phones I was the writer/researcher /interviewer filing daily reports, liaising with local and international media, researching and interviewing local subjects.
