For 40 years, I have advocated for Fortune 500 Companies, small business owners and individuals in trials and arbitrations in venues from Cuero, Texas to Paris, France. I represent plaintiffs and defendants in complex cases ranging from claims for billions of dollars arising out of commercial transactions and business failures, to suits between partners or investors in businesses alleging fraud and breach of fiduciary duties, family members in trust and probate disputes, disputes between property owners and claims involving defective equipment and consumer products. In every case, my goal is to achieve my client’s goals, whether by trial or by settlement.The number and variety of cases I have handled have given me the experience and insight to know the kind of case preparation and presentation it takes to win. I was part of the legal team that recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for the employees of Enron and other large energy companies who lost their retirement savings when those companies collapsed, and I have recovered multimillion dollar verdicts and settlements against large corporations and national accounting firms. On defense, I have successfully represented clients in jury trials and arbitrations in oil and gas, construction, intellectual property and product defect cases, among others. I also have served as an arbitrator in several business cases in which I have been appointed at the request of my peers.I am Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a member of the American Board of Trial Attorneys, and have been recognized as a Leading Individual in Commercial Litigation in Texas by Chambers & Partners and by the Best Lawyers in America publication in Commercial Litigation and Oil and Gas Law. I also have written and spoken on business torts, jury persuasion, expert witnesses, trademark and trade dress law, federal procedure and accountant liability.
