I'm enjoying working in a fast pace environment managing database servers. Some of my responsibilities include performance analysis and solutions along with solving day to day maintenance tasks.

Byndl closed down as a company and a new company named Happay was formed. My roles include planning, building, configuring and managing Servers in the Azure environment. I also managed the SQL servers and databases on Microsoft SQL and Azure SQL. Other rolls included installing and configuring SQL Reporting Server, Configuring High Availability and Disaster Recovery. Responsiblities included troubleshooting server issues, and managing replication to other SQL servers with log shipping. I've built and deployed both Primary and Secondary Certificate Servers. I manage the Azure platform and deploy or decommission objects as needed. I also manage the connectivity to those objects. As part of that I do some PowerShell scripting to find Azure objects for reporting.

• Provide tier 3 support at Microsoft in the SharePoint Portal Server group for MS SQL servers where the SQL servers are used as back end servers to SharePoint Portal Servers. This includes the management of the servers and services, backups, blocking issues, service packs and hotfixes, password changes and routine monitoring.• Building out SQL cluster servers including AlwaysON and stand alone SQL servers on Windows Server platforms and MS SQL Server 20xx.• Provide systems engineer support for the department. Some of these tasks include network configuration and troubleshooting, standard build processes, firewall configuration, server access and etc.• Write documentation around the SQL server build process. Create forms used to get the required information needed to configure the SQL server, configuring the server in preparation for the SQL install, installing the SQL server, configuration of the SQL server after the install and QC forms to ensure the work is completed to a standard after the install. Other documentation includes a Standard Troubleshooting Guide, how to documents and documents on how to fix particular issues.• Automate the deployment of SQL server to drastically reduce build times and ensure the same standard and quality build every time. This included the slip streaming of service packs and hot fixes and using custom configuration files for the installs. As part of the automation I've created T-SQL queries to configure the servers after the build to ensure the same quality and consistent server build as well as verifying the SQL configuration.• Creating slipstream installs of SharePoint Portal Server to ensure consistent builds of the SharePoint platform.• Participate in the migration of SharePoint Portal Server databases from one SQL Server site to another SQL Server.• Participate in the migration of SharePoint Portal Server sites from one SharePoint Portal Server site to another SharePoint Portal Server site.

This included performance and training.• Maintained unit’s hardware and internal software tools, as well as troubleshooting tools and network issues for peers.• Developed and taught technical courses in both Microsoft Access and Microsoft Word.• Achieved mentor status (provided support to other engineers) within first two months of support for Microsoft Access.• Provided telephone support for Microsoft Word 1.x through 6.x and call back support for all network and security related issues. Acted as the backup product lead.

• Hardware/software tester in quality control - I was responsible for testing and troubleshooting computers and peripherals, write test plans for performed prior to shipping, as well as the warehouses in the QC departments. I interacted with buyers, Research and Development, Computer Product Engineering, and the factories.• Computer Repair Support specialist - performed telephone support for repair technicians in the field. Provided training for customers, System Engineers and Sales on the following: all operating systems, dBase, FilePro Database, Scripsit Word Processing, Multiplan and VisiCalc Spreadsheets.• Customer service representative - telephone support for operating systems including Microsoft and SCO XENIX, SCO UNIX and MS-DOS. Supported software included FilePro, WordPerfect, Lotus 1-2-3, Page Maker and Many others. Support for computer hardware problems. Handled customer correspondence which consisted of researching and testing software/hardware problems.
