My background is in retail management within the service industry for the most part with 16 years with Black Photo Corp followed by 7 years with Staples. As Business Services Advisor with Staples I was coordinating equipment purchases and installations in nearly 200 locations across Canada. I negotiated service contracts and held vendors accountable. It was a multi-faceted role supporting the copy & print centres in Canadian locations.My strengths are interpersonal skills and relationship building. Management and organization. Customer service and problem solving. Business planning and marketing. I have owned two businesses, both service industry. A gym 24/7 NRG Fitness (formerly Fitness Force) 2006-2022. And a community newspaper (Snap Georgina)2009-2015.The ups and downs of owning a business were incredibly enlightening and rewarding. They tested and helped grow upon all of my skills and experience.I am a certified personal trainer, fitness instructor and became very good at creating successful print ad campaigns too.From 2007 to 2022 I was actively involved with our local Chamber of Commerce as Director, vice Chair, and Chair. While a volunteer role, the responsibilities were equal to owning a business. As Chair I also sat on the Economic Development Committee for the Town. I miss my Chamber community greatly since my move.In 2012, I published my first book. A non-fiction, inspirational story on how I made my dreams come true, and how you can too. In 2017 I became a certified CPR and First Aid instructor with St. John Ambulance teaching 6-8 classes per month. After moving to the Ottawa area in 2022 I certified with Red Cross and Ottawa Paramedic service.
