I am a professional researcher, interviewer, journalist and writer. I have been told many times that I am an expert at engaging individuals, families, communities and organizations and drawing out the details of their stories that make them meaningful to others--that I got the gist of someone’s story when others had failed. Based in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area, I have worked in print and electronic media for 30 years. My coverage history includes daily news, health and science writing, financial writing, business writing, fashion writing and feature writing. I have specialized in health and science reporting for the past six years as a contributor for Forbes, and science writer for SynBioBeta, Colabra and Apollo Health. Prior to that, I worked for StreetScape Magazine (www.streetscapemag.com), a lifestyle magazine in St. Charles, MO, for 10 years, covering everything from the latest technologies to health care, business and fashion. I have also worked as a senior freelance writer for Elsevier Science via International Medical News Group IMNG (now Frontline Medical Communications), during which I covered many stories with physicians at home and abroad. In addition, I worked as a general assignment reporter and the health and senior reporter for the St. Charles bureau of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
