CurrentAs an economist with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Air Quality Planning and Standards, coordinating analytical requirements between different technical disciplines, including attorneys, economists, and engineering and regulatory development staff for several regulatory proposals. In 2014, received two Office Director’s awards and an individual performance award.For highly visible, Clean Air Act-mandated air quality standard revision, coordinated technical team assessing impacts of exposure to air pollution on ecosystems and ecosystem services. Authored executive summary for draft and final reports, as well as chapter synthesizing results of various technical analyses. Also, currently managing a large technical regulatory impact analysis, across large divisions and a variety of technical disciplines, with multiple analyses for the air quality standard revision. Efforts involve coordinating technical teams, facilitating workgroup discussions, and identifying solutions to critical outstanding questions. On several occasions, successfully briefed senior Agency managers on various technical analyses in an easily understandable manner. For revisions to Clean Air Act-mandated air quality standards for petroleum refineries, designed, completed, and updated economic analysis of proposed regulations, including data analysis of potential impacts on small businesses. Authored chapter on the engineering requirements and costs of the proposed regulatory changes. Worked with highly technical staff to improve communication and resolve analytical questions with economists in the Office of the Administrator.
