As part of the Development team, I manage an existing portfolio of partners and sponsors to ensure successful year-round engagement, commitment, and philanthropic support. Our team is responsible for developing partner relationships with major funders that promote retention and loyalty. We manage projects to ensure partners’ goals are met, working with internal and external stakeholders to plan, implement, and report on different areas of fulfillment effectively. I act as a liaison between partners and WWCode, advocating for partner needs and using conflict management skills to resolve concerns. I work with my team to improve fulfillment strategies and identify new opportunities to increase revenue.

As the Student Life Coordinator, I was responsible for the coordination of campus programming including planning, budgeting, implementing, and assessing campus activities. I also provided leadership and management of the Residence Life Program including administrative decision-making, leadership, and strategic planning. As the lead manager of Sullivan University Lexington's residence life, I provided supervision, mentorship, and leadership to Resident Assistant(s) and students. I also served as an advisor for 13 student organizations, including two honor societies, and other department specific organizations. I was the lead advisor for Phi Theta Kappa, an honors society for Associates Level Students. I was chosen as one of twenty-eight 2015 Faculty Scholars from among nearly 3,000 faculty advisors to lead seminar discussions for honors students at the “Phi Theta Kappa Honors Institute” in Albuquerque, NM. I also served as a primary advisor for Sigma Beta Delta, an honors society for Bachelors and Masters level students in Business. I was chosen as an advisor representative for the Sigma Beta Delta Advisor Workshop in San Diego, CA in 2014. I worked alongside other departments, including the Academic Leadership Team to develop a “Club Day” event to increase involvement in student clubs. I maintained all the social media accounts for the Student Life Department, including an Instagram page and multiple Facebook pages. I created a program to increase student involvement and improve assessment of organizations called “Organization Standards,” which has proven effective at increasing student involvement. I was chosen as “Sullivan STAR of the Month” in July 2014, Sullivan’s version of Employee of the Month before being with the University for a full year.

In my role as the Family Development Specialist at SAFY, a therapeutic foster care agency in Lexington, KY, I had the opportunity of training individuals who are interested in becoming foster parents. I was responsible for teaching various curricula, such as the effect of trauma on children’s developing brains, cultural diversity, behavior management, the grief cycle, and de-escalation classes. I was also responsible for gathering pertinent information for the family in order to complete their foster parent application. I worked with a team to determine if a family should become licensed as a foster parent, and if they are licensed, which children they would be best matched with. The clinical skills I learned while in my Counseling Psychology Master’s Program helped me in this role as I have a better understanding of the diagnoses the children have, and also ways to help a family understand how to better parent a child who has a unique set of needs.
