Training, facilitation and consultancy in benchmarking, process management, and business excellence.Recent assignments include:• Leading a research study for a large Government Agency to identify best practice in transformational change to enhance their ‘Pacesetter’ programme• Training Directors and Managers (300+) at a major Motor Manufacturer, based on a tailored approach to ‘Best of the Best’ benchmarking in support of their desire to be 1st choice globally for the allocation of new models.• Leading a best practice benchmarking study for a US based international financial institution, to identify world class practice in management learning and leadership development • Facilitating a programme of consortium Best Practice Benchmarking studies for the British Quality Foundation. Subjects have included Effective Leadership, Customer Satisfaction, Performance Measurement, and Business Process Management.

Recent assignments include:• Training and facilitation for a major charity in support of a change programme to improve performance of key business processes• Developing and deploying an environmental policy and strategy to achieve major reduction in emissions under the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC)• Delivering training to Public Sector leaders and managers for the National School of Government as part of the Cabinet Office strategy to improve public service performance.

Part of the course commentary team providing live commentary on races at Henley Royal Regatta, broadcast during regatta on 87.7MHz and streamed on-line to listeners across the world

IML was an innovative consultancy specialising in employee involvement through fun, using management workshops, supervisor training and internal marketing. Responsible for sales and delivery in the Midlands and South West, leading a team of Area Managers, I helped over 100 organisations to make significant cost savings, quality and environmental improvements by establishing a culture of continuous improvement involving everyone. In doing so I helped clients win two National Training Awards and the European Quality Award.

I performed a number of roles, including:Regional Manager – promoting Pera membership, research and consultancy services to companies in the Midlands, South West and South WalesPromoting application and take-up for the DTI sponsored Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and Quality Assurance Advisory Service (QAAS)Coordinating the DTI Sponsored Small Firms Technical Enquiry Service (SFTES), and its successor BTAS, providing the link between small firms and the providers of technical consultancy support, and ensuring that the service was operated efficiently, effectively and equitably.Technical enquiry engineer, providing technical advice and support to Pera members in a variety of areas, including HVAC, Energy Conservation, Alternative Energy sources, and manufacturing systems.

A ‘thick sandwich’ sponsorship, commencing with three months studying basic engineering skills, followed by three month placements in different TI Group companies. Summer vacations were also spent on placements, providing a rich and varied experience of different industries and disciplines.
