  • Sa Power Networks
    Data Strategy And Governance Lead
Sa Power Networks Sep 2021 - Apr 2024
    Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
SA Power Networks is the sole electricity distributor in the state of South Australia, responsible for the build, maintenance and upgrade the poles, wires and substations that deliver power to around 900,000 homes and businesses. They operate a 24-hour faults and emergencies hotline, maintain street lighting for local councils and government and take readings of traditional SA Power Networks’ electricity meters. They are undergoing a significant transformation change driven by the rapidly evolving energy market and continual pressures from the Energy Regulators to deliver more with less. This has driven the need for a digital transformation program underpinned by trusted data to evolve and adapt to new market pressures and changing landscape for electricity distribution. My Data Strategy and Governance Lead role has focused on working with the executive and senior leadership teams across the business, preparing and delivering against our Data Strategy and Roadmap (covering Business initiative alignment, Technology architecture and platforms, Data service delivery and operating models, Data Governance and People data skills uplift) as it aligns to our digital transformation program through to 2030. Aligned to our Data Strategy, I have had a major focus on establishing the new Enterprise Data Governance framework and as a leader in the newly established Data Council I have been driving the business change program to bring this to life as a key enabler for our data driven business outcomes. Leveraging our core data foundations in platforms, governance and teams, my ongoing leadership role is focused on connecting the business with data capability to ensure we draw maximum value from our investments in data.
