CurrentPerforms all key responsibilities of an Animal Care Technician III.Under general supervision, manage certain aspects of animal care and husbandry in compliance with all regulations set forth by federal, state, and institution policies, and internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or applicable research protocols.Coordinate animal care and facility maintenance activities, including planning recurring and incidental duties, scheduling duties in departmental calendars and agendas, and delegating recurring duties and incidental tasks to other Preclinical Department Technicians. Anticipate changes to the animal care and facility maintenance schedules.Deliver training to Preclinical Department Technicians on animal care, husbandry, and facility maintenance techniques and procedures.Develop new procedures for animal care, animal husbandry, and facility maintenance.Manage department inventory of supplies, submit purchase orders, perform cost analyses, and anticipate supplies and equipment needed for current and future projects.Oversee recordkeeping for accuracy and completion. Perform recordkeeping and medical notetaking.Generate internal reports on animal care, animal health, research endpoints, etc.
