About Rob Linton

Rob Linton is a senior developer at Senetas, a company supplying wire speed data encryption capability to worldwide partners such as the US and Australian military, Salesforce and enterprise companies worldwide. Rob Linton is the founder of Podzy, a private on-premise secure and encrypted version of Dropbox, which was the winner of the 2013 Australian iAwards, Toolsets category. In January 2017 Podzy was acquired by Senetas, an Australian publicly listed company and renamed SureDrop. He has been a developer & database professional for the past 20 years, and for the 5 years before that a spatial information systems professional, making him a data specialist for over 25 years. His book "Amazon Web Services: Migrate your .NET Enterprise Application to the Amazon Cloud" which is available on amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Web-Services-Enterprise-Application/dp/1849681945 had some moderate success back when it was published, however that was back in 2015, and if you bought it now it would be to reminisce about the fact that back then there were only 4 services available on AWS, compared to the (arguably) 100+ available today!Previously a C & C++ coder under UNIX, for the past 7 years he has spent the majority of his time coding in C# on the Windows platform, a move which has caused many less ulcers to be produced, and more recently Angular & Flutter, which has again contributed to an increase ulcer production capacity. His first company Logicaltech Systalk has received numerous awards and commendations for product excellence, and was the winner of the Australian 2010 iAwards. He is a certified Security Systems ISO 27001 auditor, and one of the few people to receive a perfect score for his SQL Server certification. He is the founder of the first Amazon Web Services (AWS) user group in Australia (www.awsug.org.au) and successfully built it up to a membership of over 4,500 members. In September 2015, Rob was awarded AWS Community Hero by Amazon for his contribution to the Amazon Web Services Community, 1 of only 22 to achieve such recognition worldwide at the time. In his spare time he rides motorbikes and is a father to 2 uni student sons who require care and watering daily!Specialties: C/C++, C#, SQL Server, AWS, Security and Encryption, Angular, Flutter.
