Part of a two person team that was engaged to workout, asset manage, and dispose of two commercial real estate portfolios, one owned by a pension fund and the other by an insolvent life insurance company. Reporting on the latter portfolio was to CompCorp (now Assuris), the organization that works in partnership with OSFI to protect Canadian policyholders. Over a three year period the properties were stabilized, enabling them to be sold in an orderly fashion and at significantly improved values. Oversaw property managers and leasing agents and worked with lawyers and other third party professionals. Reviewed and approved operating budgets and investigated variances thereto. Managed all financial, corporate, and regulatory reporting for the properties.
