With over a decade of experience in the public health sector, my tenure as Interim Health Equity Director at the New Mexico Department of Health has been marked by a steadfast commitment to community well-being. My role intertwines leadership, strategic planning, quality improvement, monitoring and evaluation, and research skills. Our team is dedicated to fostering health equity, informed by my background in epidemiology and fluency in English and Spanish. At the heart of my mission is the integration of scientific insights into actionable public health strategies that align with the organization's values and the diverse needs of the communities we serve.I believe, like John Lewis remarked, that “the human heart is the most important frontier to conquer in the struggle for human dignity."
