I have experience in managing and delivering complex planning applications which have required working with a number of key stakeholders each with different perspectives and drivers. I actively listen to understand and interpret their requirements, presenting information back to them to confirm understanding. I have led on a number of major regeneration projects such as Motorway Service Area, large housing developments and town centre regeneration projects that have sought to promote a positive benefit to the Borough from a socio-economic perspective and assist in the Council’s development objectives. I also have experience of reviewing colleagues reports in advance of the Chair and Vice Chair meeting to provide a review of the document, to ensure all relevant policy/legislation is detailed, as well as the report is succinct and provide feedback to the author where updates and changes are required prior to decision being finalised.I provide timely written and verbal planning guidance and advice to stakeholders on development proposals and other related matters. I tailor my response to ensure both technical and non-technical language is clear to understand, avoiding misunderstanding and ultimately time for clarification.I take time to set our and prepare my written work to a high standard. I provide verbal advice in a calm and understanding way taking time to explain the policy/legislative justification, which can sometimes be under pressure, or in challenging and potentially emotive situations.
