I have over 35 years leadership experience. Operating at director/CEO executive team level, my roles encompass driving transformational change and operational improvement, often in FTSE 100 technology focussed businesses.My career to date has spanned three distinct phases: The British Army where, as an officer, I led teams of 250+ FTE often under challenging operational conditions; leadership roles in permanent positions; and latterly in consulting and interim leadership roles.I am a determined and focused leader. At Skandia, I mobilised a commercially operated shared services function from scratch in three months, exceeded all SLAs, profit targets and enabled a fourfold performance improvement. Reporting to the CEO, I then delivered further enhancements across the division.With a significant track record of effectively challenging the status quo, I have identified material improvement opportunities and cost savings in a number of organisations. At Old Mutual, reporting to the Group CEO, I drove savings of over £50m on a £500m global portfolio of change.I am a highly effective communicator, translating difficult issues into a clear and compelling narrative and successfully influencing decision makers. At Royal and Sun Alliance, I restored the business/IT relationship which had become strained. I conveyed complex technical issues to the CEO, Executive team and Board and, reciprocally, the commercial impact of system performance issues to the technical teams.I thrive most in dealing with complex problems and dysfunctional situations. I can rapidly assimilate large amounts of detailed information and have a particular aptitude for distilling these problems into a structured analysis, providing an accurate solution to them. At Smart DCC, I successfully built and led a team to deliver the largest Internet of Things migration in Europe in a highly regulated and political environment. I now wishes to take this extensive leadership experience to the next level and to add value to a business as a C-Suite leader. I ideally would like to lead an organisation through a challenging period of change or growth establishing it as a strong player meeting the demands of today and the future.
