In the competitive oil and gas industry companies have simple needs; execute projects on time and on budget, while maintaining health, safety and environmental standards. I have a track record of improving performance for companies through execution excellence; lowering capital costs, boosting production, delivering projects on time and hiring and leading the staff needed to make this happen. With 25 years experience in the oil and gas industry, 15 as a senior executive, I am looking to join forces on the next challenge by leading a team in Operations, Drilling and/or Completions. I have experience throughout Canada and will consider international relocation for the right opportunity.Positions held in the oil and gas industry: President, Chief Operating Officer, Board Member, Vice President (VP) Operations, Vice President Engineering and Operations, Senior Exploitation Engineer, Production Superintendent, Engineering Manager, Operations Engineer, Petroleum Engineer.

Vice President Operations And Chief Operating Officer (Coo)Questerre Energy Corporation Dec 2012 - Dec 2013Calgary, Canada AreaQuesterre Energy was a public junior oil and gas company operating in Northern Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec.Costs had markedly increased in their Saskatchewan core area for drilling and completions before I joined Questerre Energy. I used my execution skills to bring in best practices across multidisciplinary teams, including geological, geophysical, land, engineering and operations. Our efforts resulted in the lowest costs in the history of the company on the execution of several wells in the 2013 drilling program. Capital costs were reduced 25% below historical levels.

Vice President Engineering And OperationsReliable Energy Ltd Oct 2009 - Apr 2012Calgary, CanadaReliable was a public junior oil and gas company. As a member of senior management I was responsible for engineering, operations and heavily involved in marketing activities. The company’s growth plan required me to deliver revenue growth through drilling existing resources rather than through acquisitions. I hired engineering and operations staff to execute capital expenditure projects (CAPEX) on time and under budget.Reliable grew its production from 0 to 1000 Barrel Of Oil Equivalent (BOE). We executed our capital expenditure projects in the top 25% of the oil and gas industry, in terms of cost structure. Revenue left over after costs (netback) was in the top 10% for industry, allowing Reliable to execute its growth plan and use cash flow to fund further development and operations.

President And FounderElement Energy Canada Mar 2008 - Oct 2009CalgaryElement Energy Canada was founded by myself and a partner to provide engineering consulting services to oil and gas clients. Our goal was to grow the company to make it an attractive acquisition target and then provide managerial and technical expertise for the acquiring company. We were able to raise capital for Element Energy during a difficult market environment and provide services for oil and gas companies. I established myself as a consulting Vice President of Engineering for our principal client, Reliable Energy Ltd. In this time we coordinated and initiated production of a shallow gas drilling program in West Central Alberta. In 2009, Element Energy was acquired by Reliable Energy for two reasons:Gain access to the capital we had raised for Element Energy.Gain access to my services full-time as its Vice President of Engineering and Operations.

President And Board MemberNytis Exploration Company Inc. Dec 2003 - Jan 2006Calgary, Alberta, CanadaNytis Exploration had a mandate to pursue exploratory plays throughout Western Canada and the Northwest Territories. As part of the senior management I prepared material for all board meetings and advanced the exploration strategies of the company. As a member of the management committee for the Mackenzie Explorer's Group I gained valuable insights into the workings of many large North American oil and gas companies at the senior or vice president level. I worked with representatives from Andarko, Burlington, BP Canada, Chevron Canada, Devon, Encana and Petro-Canada on agreement reviews and other collaborative efforts. -
President And Board MemberCarbon Energy Canada / Cec Resources Oct 1998 - Oct 2003Calgary, AlbertaCarbon Energy was a small energy company that had been established in the oil and gas industry for 20 years and experienced stagnant growth in its production.Originally hired as Vice President Engineering and Operations, I was given the go ahead to bring the company up to current industry standards and drive production growth. As President I restructured the company from three people to 15 in multiple disciplines, made acquisitions and drilled new wells to raise capital.Production grew 8x over my five years with Carbon Energy from 250 BOE to 2000 BOE. Highlighting the success of the entity is the fact that this growth was achieved without issuing additional shares to fund the growth in Canada.
