After 45 years in international banking, from currency trading to managing a Private Banking Division and all steps in-between, and having had the privilege of working in London, New York, Toronto, Tokyo, Singapore and Taipei, I have embarked on a new journey as a Co-Founder and Director of Equine Match Ltd. Equine Match is a UK-based company that provides data-driven tools for breeders and buyers of thoroughbred racehorses - a unique global industry that is every bit as exciting and exhilarating as financial markets, and one that delivers the most attractive sporting spectacles located in some wonderful parts of the world. Having witnessed and experienced incredible and positive disruption and change in financial markets, I intend to play a part in a similar shift in the global bloodstock industry. "Moneyball for thoroughbred racehorse breeding and buying" may sound glib, but with a superb database and the ability to leverage AI and ML technology and processes in analysis, I believe we are at the cusp of significant change in how people take important bloodstock decisions - specifically regarding what tools can be deployed for that purpose. I am excited to work with exceptionally talented and motivated young people in various cities around the world who are driving, and who will drive, new technology and its application in the industry. I look forward to collaborating with passionate "racing people", experienced "horse people" and anyone interested in the thoroughbred pedigree to unlock more successful ways of breeding and buying these superb creatures.
