Managed the reputation of the company with responsibility for corporate affairs and financial PR, external and internal communications, public affairs, community relations and brand.Led an award winning in-house team of 24 communications professionals and lobbied members of the Government, regulators and others to formulate/change policy.

Negotiation with the regional development agency secured over £50 million of new tourism funding for the region. Put in place new management and oversaw its transition to a new organisation – ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ in 2009.

Responsible for the corporate reputation of Kelda, then a FTSE100 plc. Assisted the CEO with numerous reputational issues including Mergers and Acquisitions projects; working with a London-based financial consultancy to provide key advice and guidance.

Recruited to set up the Manchester regional office. Established a client base, managed customer relationships, and developed/recruited high calibre talent. Named the Chairman of the North West Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) which significantly boosted the profile of the agency.

Drove the growth of the owner-managed PR business; managed community relations centred on the planning and development of supermarkets/superstores around the UK for The Co-operative.
