About Robert Scarpati, Cpa, Mba
My career began at Marks Paneth LLP where I worked as an Audit and Accounting Staff. I was promptly promoted and helped train the younger staff on some of our tax workpapers. I audited a wide range of client industries including: Textile, Advertising, Hospitality, Film, Manufacturing, Construction and more. Most of our summer audits consisted 401k and Profit Sharing engagements. After a few years at Marks Paneth, I moved to Giambalvo Stalzer Company ("GSCo") on Long Island. I worked as a Senior Accountant during my time at GSCo. I ran numerous audits and 401k engagements. I was also tasked with being the Acting Controller for one of our largest clients which included the subsequent training of the new Controller once he was able to begin. It was at that time that I realized that I enjoyed the private side of accounting. I earned a position at Medical 360 as their Controller. While at Medical 360 I established new internal controls, including bank reconciliations for all of the medical management clients. I supervised the accounting staff for Medical 360 and all of their medical management companies. I established financial statement closing procedures and negotiated vendor contracts for new management clients. I also processed payroll for all management clients. Then I earned a role for Opus IVS as the Financial Controller for the NY and CA offices, our division was formerly known as Autologic Diagnostics Inc. During my time at Autologic Diagnostics I have: established internal controls; negotiated vendor contracts; established and facilitated some of our related party accounting; supervised accounting staff; interviewed and hired employees; reported our monthly, quarterly and year end financial statements to the Head of Finance for the group in the UK; processed payroll; calculated the employer match for employee 401K contributions; etc.
