Assist anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other medical staff in the care of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. Supports the anesthesia provider during the insertion of arterial catheter monitors, pulse oximeter,s and rapid infusion/transfusion systems. Review the operating room schedule to determine anesthesia equipment needs. Carefully assess dosages of medications given to patients to avoid overload of potentially harmful chemicals. Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Ensure equipment and supplies are clean, sterile, and operating well prior to and after a surgical procedure. Set up and attend to anesthesia equipment during surgery and other intensive treatments Operate digital diagnostic and technologically advanced surgical equipment. Perform point-of-care coagulation and ABG testing. Monitor a patient's condition during and after surgical procedure. Ensure excellent patient care by maintaining professional working relationships with anesthesiologist and surgeons. Obtain supplies from vendors, processes supply orders and maintain records. Stock anesthesia carts and keep inventory of all supplies and pharmaceuticals. Performs routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment used in the operating room. Assist in gathering data for quality improvement.
