Sr. Learning Strategist
I work with extremely talented Learning Strategists, Learning Experience Designers, and Creatives across the globe to address unique L&D, educational, and sales enablement challenges through the architecture of the right learning experiences and strategies for ELB Learning's diverse set of clients.
Senior Learning Experience Designer, Sales University, Google Cloud
In January 2022, I was presented with an opportunity to lead the learning strategy for multiple work streams to build out end-to-end learning solutions and programs within Google Cloud's fast-growing organization. In this role, I served as a leader for learning programs, related education ecosystems, and skills and knowledge needs. I leveraged my broad and deep learning experience design, curriculum design, and performance consulting skills, along with my advanced understanding of instructional design principles to drive instructional design and quality, innovate learning solutions, build relationships with key stakeholders, and design and simplify complex learning journeys. I engaged in community contributions to improve and sustain our culture and operations - helping make Google a better place to work for Googlers.
Manager - Sales Readiness | Learning Experience Design (Lxd)
Partnered with leaders and cross-functional partners from Sales, Finance, Sales Operations, Technology, Product, Legal, Sourcing, and Human Resources to design, develop, and deploy engaging content and innovative learning experiences that enabled LinkedIn sales teams at all stages of their careers. As part of the Center of Excellence, I influenced decisions on our learning technologies, intake, and deployment priorities. I had the privilege of leading a group of incredibly talented Learning Experience Designers - including senior-level designer/developers, who were often more accurately referred to as "Learning Scientists." I coached and encouraged them to leverage adult learning expertise, tools, technology, and methodologies for every program we created. I promoted an agile, iterative, and learner-centric approach that ensured our programs were deployed on time and helped our sales professionals achieve their real world performance goals. When the global pandemic hit in 2020, we challenged ourselves more than ever before to create great learning experiences; and my team did just that. How? As a manager, coach and designer, I fundamentally believe in taking intelligent risks and innovating new approaches to drive success, and encouraged my team to try, fail quickly, iterate and improve. This kept us moving forward in times of high ambiguity, and in the face of many personal and professional challenges that come with a unprecedented global pandemic.
Senior Strategic Learning Consultant - Sales Readiness | Learning Strategy & Design
In late 2018, I took an opportunity to help grow one of our fastest growing business lines: Marketing Solutions. I transitioned into a Senior Strategic Learning Consultant role to design, pilot, and lead learning experiences for the business line’s most important and strategic learning programs. Leveraging Dr. Sivasailam “Thiagi” Thiagarajan’s 4 Door Methodology, I lead the efforts to deploy LinkedIn’s first learning program to honor the autonomy of our adult learners and enable them to own their unique learning path. The first iteration of the program included modules and mission-based activities, best in class sales conversation examples, mini-games, social practice, and certifications in the form of observable behaviors by managers. This strategic pivot and approach was eventually adopted by all four business lines, and now serves as the absolute standard for most highly strategic learning program deployments. These efforts graced me with the coveted Sales Productivity Transformation Award for 2020.
Systems Training Manager - Sales Readiness | Learning Strategy & Design
As LinkedIn’s Learning Strategy & Design team continued to grow and expand in 2018, I was honored to be promoted and asked to lead a new sub-team of 3 Learning Strategists specializing in technical learning experience design, with an emphasis on systems-related learning. In this “player/coach” role, I was accountable for delivering large/complex technical learning experiences that were innovative, efficient, scalable, and a personal goal of changing the perception that all systems-related training must be “boring.” This allowed me to also work with our colleagues in Microsoft to share best practices and leverage work and ideas from either side.I partnered with Sales Readiness, Sales Productivity Operations, Engineering, Legal, and the Microsoft Sales Effectiveness team to lay the foundation for a multi-year CRM and internal billing system migration learning program that will ultimately impact over 10,000 LinkedIn employees globally. In close partnership with my small but mighty team, we collaborated to develop the entire curriculum and learning modalities, including classroom training, virtual classroom training, eLearning, video production, audio production, job-aids, and documentation/user guides. While I intentionally exited this program after 10 months and a successful Alpha deployment, the innovative and agile/iterative curriculum designed in 2018 is still being executed against in this highly complex multi-year deployment, and was COVID-ready - as it was already designed to be facilitated 100% virtually.
Senior Instructional Designer - Sales Readiness | Learning Strategy & Design
Due to my success, in 2016 I was promoted to senior level and became a strategic business advisor for senior leadership and stakeholders. I was now accountable for delivering large/complex learning experiences that were innovative, efficient, easily implemented, and globally scalable.I relentlessly fostered cross-team relationships and partnerships among our team of Instructional Designers, and continuously drove innovative thinking to optimize processes and solution types through mentorship, coaching and by leading from the front. Each learning experience I designed and developed followed my "true north" in supporting the following conditions of mature learning organizations: I strongly believe the most mature and successful learning organizations: (1) Are relentless in their focus on empowering learners by way of the convergence of learning and work, and the appropriate use of technology to experiment and innovate. (2) Shift from a focus on the “right content,” to maintaining a high emphasis on creating the “right conditions” to address all phases of a sale’s professional’s development. And (3) maintain a human-centric approach through the employment of design thinking, and the use of data to measure performance outcomes, rather than “activity.”I achieved the 2017 Sales Readiness Program of the Year for my design of self-paced simulation for sales narratives.
Instructional Designer - Sales Effectiveness | Linkedin Sales Solutions
In mid-2015, LinkedIn reached out with an opportunity to design and develop instructionally-sound learning programs for our Global Sales Organization. With gaining expertise in the Sales Solutions business line, I designed and developed learning moments that transformed hundreds of sales professionals and managers in terms of sales execution.Beginning with an intense focus on behavioral outcomes and measurable results related to sales learning programs, I created highly engaging and behavior-changing learning experiences that were easily relatable to the various learning styles of our sales professionals. This included designing role-specific content for all assortments of modalities I achieved the 2015 Collaboration Award and the 2016 Most Impactful Program Award for taking intelligent risks, and a data driven approach to identify, monitor and communicate results.
Sales Training - Instructional Design
Within the context of a full-service media company for small business owners, I applied in-depth knowledge of instructional design and methods to construct creative and engaging learning experiences to include written materials, presentations, eLearning programs and supporting materials, training videos, interactive learner exercises, and facilitator guides/instructions. I conducted in-depth analysis of training needs, including interpretation of quantitative sales and management skill metrics. I recommended the best mix of training design, support materials, and training venues - e-learning, classroom instructor-led (ILT), and/or virtual instructor led (VILT) to meet learning objectives, timelines, and within budget. I worked cohesively across multiple organizations to gain key stakeholder approval for a variety of proposed learning programs. I designed and implemented evaluation strategies including criterion-referenced tests and comprehensive certification processes to assess if learning and performance outcomes are achieved, and evaluated the effectiveness of these learning programs to inform continual improvement opportunities using both learner feedback and measured performance outcomes.
Sr. Manager, Channel Engagement, Dex One Interactive
I was born into instructional design in 2008 (without the official title) in this hybrid Instructional Design and Program Manager role. I designed, developed and deployed a DexKnows.com end-to-end training curriculum with a focus on providing new hires in our Initial Sales Training Program (IST Program) a streamlined, consistent message about Dex One’s full suite of digital products. Through excellence in collaboration across multiple teams and organizations, I coordinated the implementation of new products and features into the digital marketplace. I constructed numerous sales processes, client processes and training materials with a business goal of increased client penetration of digital products. I used a train-the-trainer approach on numerous digital initiatives, both large and small, to deploy new products and product updates at scale. I was an advocate for both clients and Marketing Consultants (sellers) to ensure complex tiers of digital products and their features/benefits were simplified to become easy to sell, manage and renew; and provided a solid return on investment (ROI) for our small business owners who purchased them.I built my proficiency in the use of multimedia and e-learning authoring tools including the Adobe E-learning Suite, Camtasia, Captivate and Lectora to develop and deploy SCORM and/or AICC compliant e-learning courses within an LMS. As a go-to-market team member, I played an integral part of several highly strategic digital initiatives such as: The acquisition/selling of Business.com, DexKnows.com 2.0, DexNet, a successful rollout of Prime Display, spectrum pricing for digital items, and the re-launch of Enhanced Pack to include the video slideshow feature, and Dex websites for small business owners.
Fulfillment Manager
Transitioned to Internet Operations Organization from Account Representative selling role in August 2005 In this entry-level operational managerial role, I was responsible for overseeing and serving as the single point of contact for all 3rd-party relationships with digital vendors within the Dex Internet Operations organization. I led the efforts in establishing a single point of contact for billing, customer, process and other vendor management escalations. The partner relationships I built, grew and maintained with 3rd party vendors included: Web.com, LocalLaunch (acquisition), WebVisible, BroadBand Video, ThruPort, ThunderBolt, Peak Systems, and Affina
