I am taking some time to travel with Justin through Australia and then across America into Canada. Loose plan for the gold coast drive from Sydney to cairns before train to Alice springs and Ayres rock. America is LA, Denver, maybe New Orleans and up through to New York. Canada will be a shorter run so Toronto and surrounding areas. Excited and can't wait.

I am currently self employed working as a consultant for various SharePoint related work. This work includes introducing and consulting about SharePoint governance plans, helping companies make the most from MS SharePoint, creating and developing sites for organisations and also training staff on both the use of SharePoint and training staff to Site owner level in order for sites to be managed internally by an organisation.The work also includes assisting companies in creating ways to share best practise in both SharePoint and, using SharePoint to share best business practise across organisations.

The role includes overall responsibility for any and all IT related Projects within the organisation including creating a unified system to manage future IT projects and managing change across the department.Key responsibilities include:IT Project future planning and strategyIT Project managementCreating and collating process guides and process mapping documentation for the departmentCreating a shared workspace using MS SharePoint across the team and over 2013/14, introducing collaborative workspaces across the business.MS SharePoint governance, company wide rollout, set up and site ownershipCreating and overseeing projects for Virtualisation, Hardware and Software , such as financial pakages, collaboration tools, helpdesk software, cloud solutions, company wi-fi, server upgrades, newly aquired company IT infrastructure integration and asset databases amongst other projects.IT information management across the business.Assisting the business in making I.T. software and hardware decisions and in preventing scope creep.Helping to guide the business in decisions surrounding external suppliers and the software and hardware that is provided to Centaur.

• Project managing multiple strands of the IPCC’s IT Transformation project, including a new case management system and integrated IT solutions.• Specifying and validating business requirements for the new IT systems.• Key responsibility for process mapping our current business and enabling savings using technology to replace some current business systems.• Involvement in the design and testing phase of the new systems.• Key responsibility of the production of training materials and the training of all IPCC staff in using the new technology.• Super User of IPCC technologies, with continuing responsibility for change management within these new systems.

The role included reviewing complaints against the police in England and Wales, guided by legislation. The role called for knowledge of legislative powers of both the IPCC and the police in England and Wales. Responsibilities included dealing with complaints, interaction with the police, MP's, the general public and other external stakeholders.Key skills included the ability to deal with challenging and sometimes difficult matters from members of the public, both in writing and on the phone. Also key was the ability to be able to deal with calls where a person may have mental health issues, be agressive and/or abusive or deal with an emotive subject for the person calling or writing.Analytical skills were required to review complaints and make decisions as to the process a complaint should follow.
