As an Automation Maintenance Engineer i am responsible for performing corrective/preventive maintenance tasks compliant with Asset Care Schedules and recognised diagnostic procedures to resolve automation asset faults and breakdowns.• I perform day-to-day delivery of maintenance tasks, specifically preventative/predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance and conduct performance improvement initiatives.• I provide effective and efficient support to the Plant Engineering Manager, Maintenance Team Leader and Engineering Team Coaches, including input into the compilation of end of shift reports, root cause analysis, fault logging and data entry.• I identify the root cause of automation faults/breakdowns and prioritise corrective actions to meet operational processing objectives in association with team leaders, with problem solving techniques and making full use of the relevant central support systems.• I monitor and review day-to-day equipment performance and improve automation outputs in partnership with operations to achieve maximum OEE.• Awarded a level 3 in the understanding and good practice of Workplace Coaching, encouraging team motivation and enabling successful one to one coaching to engineers in learning and understanding methods of work and skills required.• Awarded certification from the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in Working safely, and awarded certification for Managing Safely.• Undertook projects with outside contractors SIEMENS in upgrading automation equipment on-site to ensure the future reliability of equipment. Ensuring target dates were met to ensure equipment was running safely and as expected.

On the advanced engineering apprenticeship, i got to grips with the cutting-edge technology needed to deliver a first-class service – covering everything from robotics to intelligent sorting machines. I spent my first year at Nottingham Engineering Training Association, and studying at Castle College Nottingham. Additionally working and learning alongside other engineering apprentices and getting under the skin of how things work. I learned how to fix, maintain and review all of the technology and was trained by senior colleagues who have seen it all. On top of your on-the-job experience I worked towards an Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard that is recognised across the industry and helped build my career.I was awarded an ONC in Operations and Maintenance Engineering with the double grade Merit Merit, and achieved an Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering Certification with SEMTA.
