Store General Manager in busy food retail environment

Overall responsibility for store operations in a large supermarkets with sales in excess of £1m. Responsible for leading teams as large as 350 to drive sales and achieve the highest retail standards. Responsibilities cover all aspects of a dynamic food retail operation with a focus on developing a diverse team to deliver exceptional results.

Responsible for all aspects of Project Managing refit and development projects (on contracts valued to £20m), for a large national retailer who are recognised as the industry leader in Format Development.

Cornwall

Day to day management of HR department for a store of 250 staff. Responsibilities included all aspects recruitment, including managing a seasonal headcount uplift of c. 100 staff, maintenance of store training & development programme, management of wage budget on a departmental and store level, absence monitoring and all aspects of payroll processing. During this time I was also responsible for roll out and implementation of the stores Automatic Labour Scheduling – a computer based scheduling system.
