Prior to university studies I had the opportunity to gain work experience as a cross department Intern within Burberry’s HQ Central London office where I gained one-to-one training acorss the various departments of an international, luxury fashion brand. I worked with the brand’s technical engineers and gained an understanding of sample management and quaility measurement protcols, cost-management of design and production, trim and fabric selection, basic supplier administrative tasks and the design life-cycle of an accessory/garment. I also had the opportunity to assist the brand’s Womenswear designers in a live model fitting where I was able to develop my understanding of styling practises, design development, pattern cutting and toile pinning and the fashion calendar to ensure seasonal collections are complete.
