Built organisational understanding of changes to the public rights of way network and ensured that these changes were recorded, cascaded and responded to effectively. This included 1200 diversions, extinguishments and creation orders over the past year.• Advice and casework. Provided expert advice on issues relating to public rights of way to volunteers, Ramblers’ members and the wider public. This included managing casework, coordinating Ramblers’ response to incoming queries through our customer service platform, Zendesk, and supporting legal action were necessary.• Guidance and resources. Managed, maintained and produced guidance on people’s rights when out walking and guidance targeted at local authorities and paths volunteers managed by the Advocacy and Engagement Division. This included ensuring existing information is accessible and up-to-date and developing new resources, i.e. guidance on responding to planning applications and development plans using Ramblers’ policies. • Systems improvement. Developed and improved processes for casework and information management related to paths, with support from the Local Advocacy Manager. This included proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, supporting the development of new systems for casework and volunteer management, and identifying new ways of generating data to inform policy, practice and campaigns.• Policy and research. Provided support to policy and advocacy projects through research and analysis, and drafting guidance, briefings, articles and web text.• Stakeholder management. Built strong relationships with stakeholders, volunteers and colleagues; attended meetings and events; assisted local Ramblers groups to develop relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers, and; supported the development of effective systems for stakeholder management.

- Accurately maintaining Ramblers’ organisational knowledge of changes to the path network and mapping all the path issues using our Countryside Access Management Systems (CAMS) database. - Acting as the first point of contact for the Policy & Advocacy team by swiftly responding to phone calls, letters and emails from volunteers and members of the public with rights of way and access queries. - Supporting the day to day running of the policy & advocacy team, organising regular meetings, maintaining forward planners and the consultation log.- Carrying out any other ad hoc duties as required by the Head of Policy & Advocacy and Director of Advocacy & Engagement.- Promoting the Pathwatch app to walkers who found issues on paths as well as promoting the Ramblers’ “Don’t Lose Your Way Campaign” which has the aim of ensuring all historic paths are added to the Definitive Map by 2026. - Representing the Ramblers at external meetings and working groups, for example, the launch of research around Building Connected Communities with LGiU in Houses of Parliament and National Outdoors for All Working Group meetings.- Assisting team with the development of casework and evidence to support our advocacy work i.e research on usage of parks and green spaces with Town and Country Planning Association
