As the Graduate Assistant in the UNCW LGBTQIA+ Resource Center, my main role was to act a support system for the LGBTQIA+ Resource Office Coordinator, Brooke Lambert, and to the LGBTQIA+ students of UNCW. My general duties included:- Creation and proliferation of marketing and event materials- Management of the Center's website uncw.edu/lgbtqia- Management of social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook- Active engagement with the public through social media, emails, and tabling- Creation and management of educational, social, and celebratory events - Events including, but not limited to: Queer Culture, Safe Zone Training, P.O.S.E Week (events inspired by Netflix's _POSE_ in conjunction with the Upperman African American Cultural Center)- Management of the Queer Graduate and Non-Traditional Community on campus- Engagement with the Center's student population through participation in q*mmunity events- Facilitation of traditional events for students who are unable or do not wish to return home for holidays and breaks. (e.g. Holiday Friendsgiving in November is a tradition that I began in our office, and it has proven beneficial for our students)- Mentoring and advocacy for students on interpersonal matters, issues with the administration, or personal issues such as name changes, finding mental health support, or finding relationship support in our community

My role as a Master Certified Writing Consultant at UNCW's Writing Center was to empower students to proofread and edit their own papers and to provide them with the resources to be able to effectively do so. In this role, I was required to stay well-informed on new pedagogical and tutoring strategies, university news, and Composition course requirements for UNCW.

Worked with students from FRH 101-202 with the goal of improving their French skills, preparing them for exams and quizzes, and working to strengthen study and note taking skills

As the Study Abroad Co-Leader for "Paris and Berlin: A Tale of Two Cities," I worked with Dr. Paula Kamenish to advise, mentor, instruct, and lead 10 students--4 graduate, 6 undergraduate--through Paris and Berlin for one month in July of 2019. My duties included: - Active assistance in planning and scheduling aspects of the trip for all participants, including hotels, tour sites, meals, transportation, and safety - Mentorship and advocacy for students on the trip for issues of academics and mental health/well-being - Creation of a safe and welcoming environment for first-time travelers by acting as a tour-guide and veteran traveler to increase the students' confidence in their own capabilities- Engagement with students as a liaison between themselves and Dr. Kamenish/UNCW - Managed disciplinary plans and interpersonal communication for the students with rehabilitation and personal growth as the ultimate goal

UNCW offers students a variety of exciting educational opportunities. However, many students find themselves underprepared for the demands of university life. In keeping with the University Learning Center’s mission to foster independent learning and transferable skills, Academic Achievement Services provides students with training and support for skills such as time management, note-taking, and test preparation with mentors, like me, so that students can make the most of what UNCW has to offer.

My duties included:- Creating and teaching of specific materials- Grading papers and assignments- Attending bi-weekly class meetings and studying Prof. Bircher's teaching style- Acting as a resource and ally for the students in the class

As a Deli Clerk and Cake Decorator, my responsibilities included filling the chilled cases with to-go cake and dessert items, filling custom cake orders, slicing deli meats, preparing ready to eat items, and working with my team to ensure food safety and workplace cleanliness.

As a cashier, I helped regulate the flow of customers through the registers and maintained a clean and welcoming environment for customers.

As a seasonal associate, I helped orchestrate Christmas seasonal merchandise through pricing, display setup, and regulation of products.
