At the request of the former CEO, I assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at HLS in 2000. Under my leadership, the company has grown from shipping 15 million pounds of linens per year in 2002 to over 75 million pounds per year in 2024. One new state of the art facility was built in Ottawa in 2007 and a second one in Woodbridge in 2019. I am proud to have supported the company’s growth to its current leadership position in the industry today. HLS now services over 150 facilities per year throughout Ontario and Western Quebec including hospitals, long-term care facilities and hospitality customers. The company employs over 400 people in a unionized setting, has achieved ISO 9001 Accreditation, ISO 14001 Accreditation, and became the first Canadian laundry accredited by HLAC (Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council) and is still one of the few in Canada to have the accreditation at both facilities.I launched my career 36 years ago as a CPA at KPMG, working towards my role as Senior Manager. After nearly 9 years at KPMG, I moved to the CFO position at Hospital Shared Service, a company responsible for all financial aspects for both HLS and Healthcare Food Services.In addition to my seasoned industry history, I have also served, and continue to serve, on a series of Boards. I am an active Member of HLAC, having previously served as President (2011-2014), and Vice-President (2009-2010) and again as President in 2021 to 2023. I also served as President of IAHTM (International Association for Healthcare Textile Managers) for three years starting in (2014- 2017), having previously served as Vice-President in (2010-2013Y). I am currently a Board Member in IAHTM HLAC and ALM. And serve as Treasurer of IAHTM and ALM. I am active member of a number of industry organizations, including IAHTM, TRSA, ALM, ARTA.
