Member of the Group Executive Committee reporting to the Deputy Managing Director with responsibility for managing the Group Treasury function across the network of 27 offices in Australia and New Zealand.Joined the company as Group Treasury Manager within 18 months of start up and grew treasury role to encompass the following areas of responsibility:• managing the company's borrowings ($1.1 billion as at 31 March 1999) • managing the maintenance of records, calculation and payment of interest, repayment or rollover of maturing borrowings • liaising and building strong working relationships with the senior management of key lenders in relation to the administration of loan facilities and other strategic matters• managing the daily bank and liquids position for the company in Australia• overseeing adherence to corporate risk management policies and providing recommendations to the Board on risk management decisions• managing the recording and controlling of interest rate and foreign exchange risk • providing leadership and direction to the Funding Officer involved in supervising the daily bank position and maintaining borrowing records• establishing new sources of funding (e.g. Securitisation and Euro Note issues) • negotiating extension of existing funding lines and directing overall liability management• liaising with treasury personnel in banks and other financial institutions • preparing all cash flow forecasts for the company• overseeing the treasury accounting function• reviewing and preparing documentation for new loans and drawings under existing arrangements• supervising banking arrangements across all 5 departmental areas• providing and co-ordinating the provision of information and advice to management and staff on economic matters and forecasts including interest rates, economic growth and demographics• managing special projects as required.
