About Rockie Thomas

My name is Rockie Thomas and I am an accomplished digital business and streaming media pioneer. I come from a geek pedigree and thrive in an environment where I can innovate, move fast and implement quicker. While I prefer growth medium similar to digital agar, I have learned to grow and thrive in the most acidic economic and development conditions…call me primordial digital ooze. I have over 25 years of digital business development and product experience working in media, advertising and streaming technology start-ups, including start-up digital divisions within traditional media companies, as well as highly technical enterprise SaaS. I have successfully sold and deployed everything from video platforms to audio ad insertion technology; 360 media programs to programmatic advertising platforms. I have developed, launched, promoted and sold a wide variety of digital solutions in my career, utilizing past experiences to make new products better.     I have great memories of this position. It was during the Internet 1.0 craziness in Silicon Valley and the euphoric feeling that anything was possible was addicting. My goal was to get every digital audio publisher from terrestrial to internet radio stations on the iM Band. The pitch...first there was AM, FM...and now iM. We built and shipped an internet radio consumer electronic device called a Sonicbox that would shift internet radio to a open FM frequency. The iM Band tuning service was later incorporated in Philips FWi-1000 and considered to be the precursor to their Streamium product line. I worked with the publishers and built the revenue models for what was one of the first digital audio ad networks utilizing audio ad insertion.During my time here, I worked with some of brightest people in my career, forever cementing my passion for audio ad technology.
