The central purpose of this study is to explore the factors that affect the implementation of social media thus enable marketing practitioners to identify the particular challenges the firm is facing through a practical framework that assesses the maturity of social media adoption. The findings were analyzed in a convergent way then led to a framework built upon the patterns emerged from the case investigation. The framework assesses the company’s social media maturity through seven aspects namely the background assessment, the direct performance, current working model, planning strengths, cross-functional collaboration, perceived value and organizational effects. The proposed model provides a clear assessed result of each component which enables the company to obtain a holistic view of social media adoption status and clearly identify the challenges that hinder its further implementation of social media.
