Let's shake things up! crescendo: building the future of the arts is a new bi-weekly podcast from Minnesota Opera and the same producer behind MN Opera's previous hit podcast, The Score. crescendo aims to provide young artists and anyone curious about a career in the arts with current perspectives on navigating performance art industries–from classical music to musical theater, from the stage to behind the curtain. Hosts Rick X. Hoops (they/he) and Jared Miller (he/him) are both members of the Impact team at MN Opera, who have been friends for nearly 10 years. They are also two young, queer artists and educators who prioritize creating affirming, accessible spaces that foster sustainability and holism in the arts. Each episode, Jared and Rick bring their experiences as young professionals who have built careers in performing, education, administration, and creative direction. Each episode will also feature fascinating interviews with working artists all about how they define success in their fields and what they do to create careers that are sustainable and healthy. We know that we must value and reflect our whole community’s perspectives on our team and in our work if we want to create the valuable products, services, experiences, and messages our patrons, staff, and community expect.

Hosts Lee Bynum, Paige Reynolds, and Rocky Jones are three Black and queer artists, pop culture aficionados, and arts administrators at Minnesota Opera, who are working every day to bring more diversity, equity, and inclusivity into opera and classical music. The Score is their provocative, thoughtful, and humorous commentary on opera's past, present, and future, as seen through an antiracist and anti-oppressive lens. Each episode features a variety of stories from a variety of perspectives that bring People of the Global Majority, queer, trans and nonbinary folks, and everyone else into the discussion of ownership over and access to the art form. Welcome, classmates! ART CLASS is Lincoln Center’s new biweekly podcast that's liberating the arts and arts education one episode at a time. ART CLASS is hosted by Rocky Jones, Paige Reynolds (Iya Mabolé Inawale), and Lincoln Center's Chief Education Officer, Dr. Lee Bynum, previous hosts of the NY Times-recognized podcast, The Score. They’re three Black, queer artists, culturistas, and arts administrators who are passionate about composing a future of artmaking and arts education that creates more joy for more people more of the time. Each episode features news, stories, and interviews that seek to amplify the voices of artists creating at the intersection of beauty and innovation in fields like dance, opera, film and TV, architecture, theater, visual arts, drag, and more. Select episodes also feature a special series entitled "Kinfolk," led by Paige, that explores the connections between the artistic and cultural traditions of peoples across the Black/African diaspora.
