Formed the Transport Matters Party in 2018 and was successful in winning the seat of North Eastern Metropolitan region in the state election November 2018 and held that seat till November 2022. Rod is currently the the leader of the Transport Matters Party.

Was elected to President in 2015 and held that position till entering the Victorian Parliament representing the electorate of Northern Eastern Metropolitan region in 2018 oversaw the rebuilding of the hirecar association to include taxis. This was the foundation of establishing the political arm the Transport Matters Party.

Rod's extensive industry experience in this segment has seen the business grow rapidly over the past 10 years. Under Rod's direction, the business focusses it's service towards premium corporate and private travellers, as well as the celebrity and foreign affairs markets.Over recent years, Rod has represented other hire vehicle owners in government and business forums. His desire to assist with the development of a more effectively operated and sustainable hire vehicle industry has ensured he regularly contributes to industry related hearings.
