The Work-Based Learning Consortium (WBLC) has been established as the not-for-profit, federally incorporated organization to continue the types of selection, work-based learning and certification programs that began under the banner of the Ontario Manufacturing Learning Consortium (OMLC) and to expand the scale, scope and efficiency of these proven, successful, competencies-based programs for many other entry- to mid-level skilled jobs in a wide range of sectors and geographies.

Currently available programs include: CNC Machinist [Level 1], CNC Operator, CMM Operator, Structural Airframe Assembler, Mechanical Assembler, and Electrical/Electronic Assembler.To date (March 2018), over 400 people - mostly youth - have been selected and hired by Ontario advanced manufacturing companies and have successfully completed OMLC learning programs and been certified by OMLC. As Senior Industry Advisor, I provided the Aerospace Practice within GAC with strategic advice based on my industry experience and expertise. I led the Aerospace Advisory Group, which is composed of both private and public sector members, to support the Aerospace Team in developing proactive strategies, tactics and action plans to assist Canada's Trade Commissioners in ensuring that Canadian industry interests, expectations and capabilities are being supported internationally.

From 1995 to 2014, I was the Executive Director of the Ontario Aerospace Council (OAC), the industry association for Ontario’s aerospace sector. I was instrumental in the creation and development of the OAC, which started in 1993 with 12 Member Companies and had 220 Member Companies in 2014.
