I am responsible for a portfolio of public health projects in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, ensuring timeliness and quality in our deliverables. I gather and utilize data to develop solutions for our clients, which include local government agencies and other entities invested in the health and well-being of Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. My role involves using project management skills, clear communication with stakeholders at all levels, and maintaining relationships with our partners, with the overarching goal of providing high-quality health planning, management, and evaluation services to our community.

Through collaboration with the BSRI team, we provided planning & evaluation services to local nonprofit organizations and their projects. My responsibilities included conducting site visits, gathering and organizing data from public health & social service systems to address client needs, developing evaluation plans, and analyzing state/federal regulations.

As a research assistant for the Baby-Act Trial, I contributed to the development of an intervention that supports the healthy biological development of infants. My main responsibilities were to upload the curriculum and format the intervention to the mobile application for the study, as well as troubleshoot any technical problems that posed barriers to participants in the study.

I focused on studying the effects of words on early child development and assisted in the testing of evidence-based programs with an emphasis on child-parent communication. I worked mainly on the Well-Baby Initiative which was a longitudinal study integrated into pediatric care visits. I recruited & enrolled participants, managed data, organized study materials, delivered the intervention and administered assessments at various time-points, and translated project documents when needed.

My summer fellowship with the TMW Center gave me increased responsibilities and tied my work with the work of other public health professionals. I participated in a series of seminars and discussions with public health professionals as part of the Potter Fellowship in Community & Social Medicine. For this fellowship, I worked on an independent research project under the TMW Center and developed a poster to present at the end-of-program research symposium. My presentation was on caregiver-provider interactions in a pediatric care setting, with the research supported by statistically significant results.

Under the Biological Sciences Division, I covered undergraduate classes in cell biology, microbial biology, and physiology. My responsibilities included grading student assignments and exams, reviewing material with students, leading discussion sections, and assisting professors in any additional tasks required for the course. Our TA team was the main point of contact for any concerns students had with any of these courses.

As an Advocate, I addressed patients’ social determinants of health through collaboration with medical providers and community-based organizations. I was responsible for navigating the surrounding public health and social services systems in order to best serve our clients. I assessed clients’ social needs through an intake process, connected them to community resources, and followed up with them until their needs were met. During my time here, I received a Values Award for "Power of Shared Work," highlighting my capacity for teamwork and collaboration.
